Cards

Here are a few cards I made to put in the Card Box Holder I showed you earlier this week.

I made 3 of each, but different colours.

This one is your normal C6 card and matching envelope:

This one is one of the Note Cards (pack of 20) with matching envelope:

Recipe:
Stamps: Sassy Salutations, Blessings from Heaven
Paper: Print Poetry DSP, Whisper White, Raspberry Ripple, Summer Starfruit
Inks: Raspberry Ripple, Summer Starfruit
Accessories: Note Cards & Envelopes, Elegant Butterfly Punch, Bitty Butterfly Punch, Basic Jewels Pearls, Stampin Dimensionals

Wondered why the last 3 or so posts all have the Print Poetry DSP on them?
I told you I was playing with the new DSP, I didn't tell you why - this is because I am part of the upcoming ESAD Seasonal Blog Hop.

Yes, 25 of us will show and inspire you with our creations of the products in the Mini Catalogue.
I am showcasing the Print Poetry DSP (No - who would have guessed....hehehe) and also the That's the Ticket Stamp Set. So I have been playing with both these for a few weeks trying to come up with some inspirational creations.
All will be revealed next Sunday, 7th April, so come back and let me know if I inspired you......LOL...at the very least one of the other 24 should be able to!!!!

So now that I am trailing the new MDS (My Digital Studio Program), I couldn't help myself but to create a new header for my blog.

What do you think? I love it.
Must admit I need to just rejig it a bit to have it the full length of the header, but fantastic for a first up effort.

Why not hop over to my online shop and get the 30 day trail yourself for FREE! and have a play.
You really will be surprised at how easy it is to create gorgeous projects!

Happy Easter Teacher Gift 2013

Nothing like leaving it to the last minute!

I started this gift box 3 weeks ago and each time I decorated it for cards for ladies and not Easter! (yes, it's Tanya's One Sheet Box - told you I loved it!!!!)
Well, with school finishing for the Easter break today, I quickly finished this on Tuesday night and took a photo yesterday morning. Laura has taken it to school today for her teacher Mr Sergeant - hope he likes it.
It is my last Easter Teacher gift as Laura will be at High School next year and I am not making 6 or so,for each teacher she has, plus I believe it's uncool for that sort of thing once you are a High Schooler!

Recipe:
Stamps: Every Egg Wheel (124089)
Paper: Pool Party,Summer Starfruit, Whisper White Cardstocks, DSP backing sheet
Inks: Pool Party and Summer Starfruit Markers, Basic Black ink pad
Accessories:  Big Shot, Window Frames Collection Framelits Dies (129021), Festive Paper-Piercing Pack (127857), Sticky Strip, Stampin Dimensionals,

I just love the new Paper-Piercing Packs - they make it sooooo easy to create a perfect pierced border!
Also, I wasn't up to a lot of colouring due to my distractions, so I decided to stamp off another image of the rabbit, colour it and add to the banner with a dimension to pop it up (you can't see that from this pic).
Anyways, both hubby and 15 year old son said it was nice and ok for a male....time will tell!

Oh, I forgot to take a photo of inside - it has a small pack of Tim Tams, a Kit Kat and a pack of M&M's....wonder if he shares?

Cards Box Holder

Having a play with the Print Poetry DSP and making another of Tanya's One Sheet Boxes.

Here's what I came up with by using one of the sheets in the pack and distressing the edges for some depth.
Added some pearls for a bit of bling as well.

Recipe:
Stamps: Letter It
Paper: Print Poetry DSP, Primrose Petals, DSP backing sheet
Inks: Primrose Petals
Accessories:  Basic Jewels Pearls, Sticky Strip, Distressing Tool (retired)

I've made some cards to pop in it which I will show you next post.

NSC21 Family Holiday

I just love Joy's Negative Space Sketch Challenge at Soul Scrappers this month - it's about layers....

I have used the Print Poetry DSP for my layers and also my pinwheels.

Had a play with my markers and Spritzer Tool as well.
Quite happy with the outcome - you can see why I write very little on my layouts - LOL, adds that messy  "ME" touch to it!

Hard to imagine Nathan was a few months off turning 3 in the picture. Hehehe now it's me still looking up to him, only now we are both standing!

Retired DSP Handbags

What do you do with all your retired DSP?
Do you just hoard it in the hope that the perfect project will present itself to you, and let's face it, it rarely does.

These are some of the cute handbags I made for Easter this year......

I have used 3 different packs from the last 3 years, including last years Sale A Bration DSP! You get 2 handbags from the one 12x12 sheet.

Here's a closer shot to show you the Beanie Egg that sits nicely inside each bag.

I purposely stayed away from Easter type patterns and no saying as I love to give gifts that the person receiving it can re-gift if they want to. Now I know you may not quite GET it, but don't you think it is great advertising when the person they give it too asks where they got it?
I have gotten personal orders for my 3D items from this so I know it can work for you.

50th Male Birthday Card

Do you struggle when it comes to Male Birthday cards?

Let me tell you, you are not alone. My youngest brother will hit the "50th" milestone next month, so here is the card I came up with to send him.

Rosette's are all the rage at the moment, and let's face it, they are fine for males aren't they!

I used some retired Well Worn DSP and took my colours from there - love it and I love the Silver Glimmer paper as well.

5 days left of Sale A Bration !!!

Only 5 days left to get your FREEBIE's.........yes, Sale A Bration ends on Friday night - 1 freebie for every $100 ordered.

I had a play with the chalkboard technique using one of the SAB stamps from the Vintage Verses Stamp Set.

Some people do this using white embossing powder to get a crisper image, however, I wanted the true chalking effect so just used my craft whisper white inkpad.

Did you notice the ribbon? Two Tone, just gorgeous and in the Seasonal Mini Catalogue!

To take advantage of the FREEBIE's and get this gorgeous stamp set, get your order to me by 6pm on Friday night. Don't ask me on Saturday morning as it will be toooooo late!

One Sheet Card Box

How clever is Tanya Bell ?

Over on her site, she shows you how to make this gorgeous box using the backing board from our DSP packs.

Here is the first one I made - just need to make a matching card to go with it and I'm done.

I am making another one as an Easter Gift for Laura's teacher this year - Mr S, yep, another male teacher....don't get me wrong, I like the male teachers both Laura and Nathan have had, it's just that much harder to craft for them! LOL, anyways, I've put the doilies and pink ribbon away for him........

CC14 Layers

Over at Soul Scrappers, it's time for my Card Challenge ...... Layers this month.

Yes, Layers!!!! I know, I am flat out putting two layers on my cards, so I am challenging everyone (myself included) to use 4 or more layers.

Here's my inspirational example .....  hehehe

Wowers, including the card base, I have 7 layers, yes count them, 7 layers!!!!!! What an inspiration!

You know, using the new Framelits makes this challenge a breeze. Best of all, because no-one see the middle, you only need one piece of cardstock and one piece of DSP as the layer on top hides the hole!

And to add a bit of dimension, run your cardstock through the big shot with an embossing folder.

Ok, I've told you how easy it is, start you card and I'd love to see you join me at Soul Scrappers and show me your creation!

SSAJ3 - Praying - Irish Blessing

This month, Joy has us playing with inks - here's my sample I came up with:

I wiped 4 different TH Distressing Ink pads across the Cardstock using ink pad direct to paper technique and then down the Cardstock. I wiped 5 different TH Distressing Stains to give the checkered Iook. I used a 5th TH Distressiing Ink pad to blender around the edges for a weathered look. Then used the boring normal technique to stamp my praying hands on the page and additional Cardstock with my quote on.
Added some paper piercing and good to go.

Chocolate Holder

It's my Stepfather's birthday today.....Happy Birthday Geoff..xx

This is the Chocolate Holder I made him which I was able to recreate from the one that Leonie Schroder gave me in the ESAD Mystery Swap Box last year, so I'm sure it may look familiar.

The sentiment is from the new SAB set Vintage Verses and the DSP is retired from my stash.

Now I know it's not your normal manly colours, but I think a bit of pink never hurts......anyways, it's the chocolate inside that counts hey!

I used a card from my stash that I have previously shown you so won't again.

Anyway, Laura's birthday is tomorrow and she is going on a shopping spree with a girlfriend, so no gift wrapping needed for her, and yes, she is getting a card from my stash as well.

Dress Up Altered Jar

So here is the other jar I altered using pinks.

I added one of the new doilies to the lid. I stamped the Parlor Prints background stamp on it to match the oval behind the dress. I think it's the first time I have inked that stamp up!

I used the textured cardstock for the dress to add another element, and used the retired pleated ribbon to give it a lovely feminine feel.

The Just for You stamp is a retired hostess one that I love.

SAB 2013 Altered Jar

I was given 2 jars and asked to decorate them using pink and purple, as I saw fit........LOL, no pressure to get it right !

Anyways, I decided to use the lovely SAB DSP Sycamore Street for the smaller jar.
Yes I know it's Rich Razzleberry and not purple, but don't you think it came up great with a touch of pink!

I got to play with my new Honeycomb EF and also used 4 punches.....love my punches.
I have since put some pearls on the side butterfly as until I posted the pic's I had thought it looked fine....

I will show you the other one tomorrow - I used the Dress Up framelit with it.
