That's the Ticket Sneak Peak

Here's a card I made up using some scrap leftover pieces laying around from previous projects.

All I had to prepare was the Happy Birthday Ticket from a new set in the upcoming Seasonal Catalogue next month and put it all together.

Must say that it would look a bit better if I had the new ink pads to give it better coverage - but I'm happy with it and have added a little pearl to the bow.

This card is a 4x4 note card and perfect to give with a gift!

Happy Australia Day 2013

I hope where ever you are you are drier than we are in Logan / Brisbane - we have had more rain last night/today then we have had in the last few months, with more to come!

My dad (in Calliope) and youngest brother (in Gladstone) are in area's where flood alerts have been issued so a bit of a nervous wait for us all at the moment. And of course another brother (in Townsville) has already had his fair share of rain. After the horrible floods here 2 years ago and losing a great part of our backyard, we do not want a repeat of it all.

Thanks for stopping by, and take care,

QC19 Laughter (and Mini Sneak Peak)

Polly gave us two quotes to pick from this month for the Soul Scrappers Quote Challenge.

I picked the second one: "The laughter of a child is the light of a house" - African Proverb.
Just loved this and here is my layout using it with a photo of Nathan and myself in 2000.
Oh to be that slim again!

I have used a few items from the new Seasonal Catalogue which you are going to love!.

70th Birthday Crad

I was asked to make a 70th Birthday Card for a lady's friend so decided to make another Interlocking Gate Fold Card.

I purposely kept it simple as I feel it makes a bigger statement. And of course I added pearls as most ladies of that generation grew up with pearls.

And the inside - again pretty simple but a nice touch.

SUCC6 - Embossing Folders

It's that time again - my next Stampin' Up! Challenge at Soul Scrappers.

This round I am challenging everyone to play with their Embossing Folders - a great multi use item that some of us don't use enough.

Here are a couple of the samples I made:

A Sympathy Card

A Wedding Card

Just two ways to use your folders, there are many more to try.

I hope you get your folders out and enjoy having a play to see how creative you can be.

SSAJ1 Nathan

We have started Joy's Art Journaling Class over at Soul Scrappers - this is going to be a lot of fun and learning!

Every month, Joy will give us some Prompts, some Inspiration Quotes and a Technique for us to go about and play with as we desire.

I have started with an A5 Sketch Book to put my Techniques and samples in and am thinking of using an old book to alter for my Prompts, and then scrap a layout with the Quote!
Wowsers, don't think you will hear "I'm bored, there's nothing to do!" coming from my mouth!

Here's this month's Technique - Photo Transfer

Ok, still some way to go with this technique, but after 4 attempts I got to this stage and quite like the watercolour look.

Ohh, and I got to use all my favourite stamps - new and old!

SAB 2013 Easel Calendar Card

Here is the  Easel Calendar Card I made to give away as a Swap Angel.
For those who don't know, a Swap Angel is one of a group who offer to make an item for one of the ladies ( or more) who never received their swap parcel due to postal loss, or their partner pulled out and said nothing, etc,etc.....it is not a nice feeling when you have put your time and effort into participating and nothing arrives for you. So when this happens, the call goes out and instead of one parcel turning up, lots turn up with one or two items. It helps restore your faith in swaps.

Anyway, I put my hand up to be a Swap Angel and this is my small contribution.
I cased the easel card idea off Sue Madex, and the 3x3 Card is my own design.

And you know me, just had to make a few more!
I so love these colours - Summer Starfruit and Island Indigo!

2013 Calendar SAB Sneak Peak

I have to tell you, I love the stamps they have on offer this year, but OMG, I have fallen in love with the DSP!

I made up a couple of Easel Calendar Cards to send away as a Swap Angel, and well, couldn't help myself but to keep going and make these Calendars for the refrigerator or office filing cabinet!

These look absolutely fantastic in real life, and I'm not just saying that because I made them...LOL, ok so I am a tad bias, but trust me, you are going to Looooove this DSP, so get your wish lists ready so you can grab a pack for FREE!

Oh, and as for the Easel Calendar Card, well as soon as the lovely lady gets it in the mail, I will show you that as well as it was the inspiration for these!

Sale A Bration 2013 Sneak Peak

Oh, it's just about that time of the year again - yes Stampin' Up! Sale A Bration time.
22nd January to 25th March, look out for the brochure.
I will post a link on my side bar for you to access on the 22nd.

In the meantime, remember I said I had to post off Theresa's other Chrissie gift?, well I did, and I added a pack of cards, as I do right!

When I saw this set, I just had to get it due to the phone booth - it's not the tardis,
but still reminds me of Dr Who, who my husband is a big fan of - after Batman of course!

I was going to draw a line around the edge of the cardstock, but used my Simply Scored Tool instead, as I had it out with the Diagonal Plate to make the envelope.
Just love how they turned out using the new In Colours, so figured I'd make another set for my good friend and hope she likes them too!

Christmas Mini Album 2012

So I finally finished off my Christmas Mini Album ...... and now I have gotten around to taking some photos.

I admit I did only finish it yesterday, but at least I did finish it before the year ended.

This is the album I told you all about by Ruthy Clarke and here's the link to her tutorial.

Unlike Ruthy, I only used Stampin Up Cardstock and ribbons.

I started off making this with a friend in mind to give it too - only trouble is I absolutely LOVE how it turned out so will keep it myself and put a photo of me, Rob, Nathan and Laura in it to remember Christmas 2012.

Hehehe, I have added a link to Ruthy's tutorial so maybe you all can make your own too!
