ATC - Glitz and Glamour

When it comes to ATC's, I am never quite sure of what I am doing......this time at Soul Scrappers we had the theme of "Glitz and Glamour" and was asked to use some sparkle / bling.

I used the new Champagne Glass Glitter on opposite corners for the Glitz and found these gorgeous Glittery 3D dress which I thought would be perfect for the Glamour part.
What do you think?

Our next theme is "Circus" - you would think that would be easy wouldn't you!

GDT1 - Wow

Guest Designer at Soul Scrappers this month is Natalie Elphinstone, such a very talented and special lady.
Natalie has us using our own handwriting for journalling at least two lines on our Layout.

I have been going to scrap this page for a while, so decided this was the time to do it.

I know, I have crappy handwriting, here's what I wrote:

                WOW!! Disco Birthday Party...
SNAKES, LIZARDS, CROCODILE!!!
I think I may be slightly
overdressed....
24.10.2010

What an eventful Birthday Party that was - only in Australia hey!

Queen For A Day 3x3 Set

I normally try to post my tag of the week for our Project 52 Challenge at Soul Scrappers on a Sunday, but I haven't even thought of what I am making this week - so maybe will post them both next week - hehehe, no pressure!

I have however made my card project for the current Card Challenge at Soul Scrappers. Karen wants us to make a card based on Queen Elizabeth, the monarchy, Britain, crowns, jewels or anything else that you can think of that would represent this celebration.

As I am a bit stretched for time at the moment - I decided to use one of the Tutorials I have from the U Stamp with Dawn and Friends series.
I have made the Love Notes and Bag created by Chi Nguyen form the Big Shot Brilliance Projects to Die For !! 2011 round. (wow - what a mouth full).

I have altered the bag a bit as I don't have the Movers and Shapers Die.

This is the card I am using for the Challenge

All together in the bag

the whole set of three and the bag

I think they turned out very nice indeed.

The best part is that I got to use some of my retired stash of DSP and ribbon which is a big goal of mine this year. Also got to use two of my current favourite stamp sets You're A Gem and Grunge Rock.

Happy Feet Bookmark

When I was making my tag last week - Brrr, I decided to also use the Cracked Glass Technique with the Penguin stamp and put on a bookmark.
He is so sweet and oh so sparkly - the best part that the glitter is encased so it doesn't leave a trail on your pages. Gotta love that.

While I used the Pool Party Marker on the imagine, I made the bookmark from Bashful Blue Textured Cardstock.

Wedding Card and Gift Bag

I was asked to make a Wedding Card and Gift Bag to be given to a friend and this the combination I came up with. Figure you can never go wrong with Red and White for Weddings.

This is the Gift Bag and Card together

A close up of the card - gold embossing

Close up of the Bag

I think they turned out great and are quite simple but elegant.
The DSP I used is  from the new Twitterpated DSP in the current mini - it really enables you to make a focal point of it as it is just so nice.

SC51 Family

The Sketch Challenge this time round was great for doing a family page.
I had a photo of everyone (humans...LOL) so I could crop a head shot and place in the squares.
Don't worry, Bee Jay got his photo taken as well - he has to be the centre of attention at all times, he's lucky we don't rename him Diva!.

So I'm not sold on the Bunting, but thought I'd have a play with Bakers Twine again.

So how do you like the Sweet Shop DSP and matching Jelly Bean Brads?

So this week I got some Tim Holtz Stain Dyes and Distress Inks and had to make a tag with them.
Let's hope that Stampin' Up! bring a range to there product listing.

CUCC3 - Family

This Soul Scrappers Challenge had us following a sketch layout with set sizes for the 3 pieces of DSP I have used. Basically you could put them anywhere and add more if you wished, but had to have 3 of the set sizes.

This photo was taken last November when we were going out to dinner for Nathan's 14th Birthday!
It was another of those moments when you realise your children have grown (god knows when) and are now taller then you! In Rob's chase not quite, but I can tell you Nathan is taller than me and Laura isn't far behind.

I think I like how the page turned out - isn't it funny how you love some DSP's and then when you get them have absolutely no idea how the heck you are going to use them! I have resisted get the matching stamp set for that reason.

Happy Mothers Day 2012

A big Happy Mothers Day to my Mum and MIL and all the lovely Ladies I know that follow my blog.....hope you all get as spoilt as I am.

My hubby got me a Galaxy Tab (Yay !!!!) it is awesome. And my lovely children got me a cover for it and gifts from school stall. And Mothers Day Lunch at the RSL - I wonder if I can get them to do the ironing????

Anyway, my last Mothers Day card for this year is the card we gave my MIL at lunch yesterday, and the bag I altered for her gift.

Close up of Rhinestones I placed over Easter Eggs.

I used the Twill Tape (Ribbon) for a change - can't remember the last time I used it....LOL....but doesn't it look great! I stuck to the Vanilla / Black theme of the card.

Project 52 - Week 19 - Brrr

Brrr - what an apt name for this weeks tag!

My goodness it is certainly chilly in the mornings now.

Close up showing you I used the Cracked Glass Technique - I used a layer of Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder to give it some winter bling. I also used a blender pen with some Pool Party ink to give a subtle shading on my Polar Bears body for a cold appearance...hehehe if nothing else it gives a hint of colour!

Mothers Day Cards 2012

With Mothers Day being on Sunday here in Australia, I have made a couple of cards I made with my Mum in mind as she loves Green. (No, not Purple).

This is the card I gave to mum last Saturday as I took her out for coffee and lunch and a chat - a lovely Mother/Daughter day as it's been a couple of years since just the two of us have had a chance to do that.

I think I have told you before that I struggle with Bakers Twine, but I think it adds a great touch to this card.
I actually worked the whole card around Green (of course) and the saying as Mum loves it - and yes, she loved the card!

I was asked to make a card to give a wife, so the saying I used on Mum's card would not really be right.
After seeing a few of this style of card on various blogs, decided to give it a go - absolutely love this look.

Sure hope she likes it ....... I added the larger pearls as the buds for some bling and I love the way the Seam Binding ribbon shines. And yes, I have used the Sale A Bration DSP - you know I love it and lucky for me I did stock up on it.

Mothers Day Tea Bag and Rocher Holder

As promised last month, here are the Tea Bag Holders and Rocher Chocolate Holders I made for Mothers Day....How cute do they look in Poppy Parade and the gorgeous Sale A Bration DSP.

No stamping needed for these ones - just love them and as a set they are quite a nice gift for any female.
I can see me making a heap of these for Christmas !! The perfect table topper and also last minute gift.

NSC9 - Personality Trait

This was a challenge for sure - to come up with one of your personality traits and do the Negative Sketch Challenge based on it.
Must say I was not sure which one to use - depending on who you ask, will depend on the answer you get...hehehe.
None the less, due to a deadline of three weeks, I now found myself with only one day left.
Decided to go with "Curious" - no not procrastination! and yes, another Digi Page - my new go to when you have no time left to scrap your challenge!

Anyway's, I must say that I actually like this photo of myself, and love how the page turned out.
Sorry to say that none of it is Stampin' Up! as we are not lucky enough to be like our USA/Canadian demo sisters who do have the Stampin' Up! Digi Program.
Nevermind, I am happy with the program I have and am getting quite good with it.

This weeks tag see's Marci's sister Jesalyn chillin' out.

I wish !!!
Things are starting to get a bit hectic at the moment - I really do look forward to some craft time on the weekends now.

I hope you like my Jesalyn and how good do the Stampin' Up! Markers work for colouring - let's hope that we get some nice colouring type stamps in the new Catalogue when it comes out in a few months.

Soul Scrappers Card Swap

This month 10 of us Aussie ladies in the group had a card sawp - the theme this time round was open, and you could make 10 the same or 10 all different - glad I didn't host this one as how do you decide which one to keep for yourself!

Anyway, I at least only made Deb chose which colour to keep for herself...LOL.

Here are the cards I made for this swap - we make whole cards and send each with an envelope as well.

Pool Party - outside and inside
Island Indigo, Wisteria Wonder, Lucky Limeade

I decided to go with the new In Colors and also one of the Sale A Bration Stamps from the Sprinkled Expressions set. You can't really tell from the photo, but I embossed the back flap of the envelope using the hearts embossing strip from the new Mini - looks gorgeous!

You will never guess the colour I got back.....hehehe, she must know!

I got my wonderful stash back earlier this week, so once I have taken some pictures, I will show the array of cards I received.

Thanks for looking,

Until next time, Happy Crafting....YCB
