Life Is Beautiful

Over at Crafters Anonymous, our first Fortnightly Scrapbook Challenge for the year is Romance/Love and the only requirement is that it has two people in it...Hehehe,... I'm guessing that would be in the one picture!!!

I decided it was the perfect opportunity to scrap one of my Wedding Photo's. I know, it was only 15 years ago in July....hehehe can't rush these things!

I hope it doesn't take me as long to find a frame to put it in as I just adore how it turned out.
I'd better do some more Romance challenges to get the rest of them scrapped...LOL.

ATC - Vintage Christmas

At Soul Scrappers our first ATC Swap for this year was the theme of Vintage Christmas.
I must say that the ATC's I got in this swap are all awesome !!!!
Apart from being Vintage Christmas, we were asked to have some Tinsel / Glitter on it as well - to say that every ATC is a piece of art is truly correct with these.

Here is the one I made:

I was pretty pleased with myself when I finished these, and rightly so I thought!!!!
Now look at the other ones.......

Joy, Janice, Shazza, Qadirah and Mary

OMG aren't they just amazing!!!

I have sent off my next round, which is Glamour & Glitz and am now feeling a tad nervous, but I bet you are all now waiting to see them in around 4-6 weeks.
These ones go to Mary in USA and come back and I always like to have mine there in plenty of time so as not to miss out - imagine only getting mine back :-( now that would not be nice at all and I would not get these little masterpieces to inspire me to get better.

CCC9 - Paris 2011

Color Combo Challenge - Must have two people in the photo and use the colours Off White, Medium Pink, Red and Black.

I must say I had to had to play around with this one for a bit until I was happy with it.

I did take a small liberty with off white, as the DSP is actually Very Vanilla and it's not quite what I would call off white.

At least I got a start on Mum and Geoff's album for their trip last year.

SQSC27

I really enjoyed this week's sketch at Stamp Queen's as I got to play with the SAB Enchanted DSP again.
As with each sheet of this gorgeous paper - I could not decide which side to use, so I made two cards showcasing the two side of the one page.

Here is the sketch:

Here is my first card:

And here is the Reverse side:

Seriously, how awesome is that - you really would think they were two different pages.
The best part is that I stumbled on the Lucky Limeade card by mistake - hehehe - yes, I embossed the wrong side of the DSP when I made the Butterflies (so like me it's not funny!) and thought how nice it would be.
Needless to say, I like the Limeade card and hubby likes the Peach Paraif one.
The other ironic twist here is the Pool Party works so well - do I hear a "I do not like that colour at all" statement, yes, I did say that when I saw them - still haven't warmed to Calypso Coral yet though.

Project 52 Tag Hanger

Ok, so I now have 8 gorgeous tags but I need something to showcase them in.

I have some of these double sided frames from IKEA, so I took the insert out of and simply stuck a couple of Butterflies on with some bling and voila.......perfect hanger for my tags !!!!

I know it is a bit plain, but the tags are the focal point and they fit so well. Only need to make 3 more as I think 13 tags to one frame is probably enough - this one has the 8 already on it.

Project 52 - Week 8 - Bonds

This week see's another very simple tag - Bonds.

The idea behind the tags isn't to have the most fancy or layered tags, but to choose words/pictures/images that mean or can bring meaning to you every week.
It also can reflect what is happening in your life at that stage so when you look back in years to come, you can or may remember when / how you made the tag and the journey that followed.
I am enjoying making these and look forward to 52 at the end of the year.

Monster High Gift Bags

Here is a photo of the Monster High Gift Bags I made for Laura's birthday party following the instructions from the very talented Sharon Field.

Laura picked out all the colour combinations - must say I was rather surprised with a few of the choices, but the are all fabulous! And I now have a few combinations to do a card or two with colours that I would never have thought of.

I put a pack of lollies and a lip gloss stick in each one - essential items for all 11 year olds in their handbag !!!!

I love how they turned out and hope that the young ladies that receive them do too.

Ruffles Marci Friends Notebook

I must say I just love little Ruffles Marci.

I have made a Notebook holder and put her on the front with the simple Sentiment "Friends".
I think it says it all really.
I added pearls to both her headband and her ears for a girlie feel.

SQSC26 - Rooster Love

Ok, got your interest didn't I !!!

I really didn't know how to title this card - except I made it for my friend whose Rooster got injured protecting his girls (should have made a hero card !!!).

This weeks Stampin Queens Sketch Challenge was the perfect one to make a Rooster card with.

Here is the Sketch:

Here is my card:

I love the colours of the Beau Chateau DSP and always wondered how I would incorporate that Rooster imagine into a card / page.
I think the card is much nicer IRL.

Top Note Gift Bags

Sharon Field shows you how to make these absolutely gorgeous Gift Bags using the Top Note Die.

I have made these with one sheet of the Hostess DSP - couldn't decide which side to use so made one of each and used the stamp from the SAB Stamp Set Fresh Vintage.
Looks fab using the Postage Stamp punch as well.

With the handle, as you can tell, the one on the left was the first made, and the right one the second one and the obvious spot for the punch. And for those girlfriends that know me well, yes the top notes are Concord Crush!

I just love these bags - so much so that I also made 12 Monster High ones for Laura's Birthday as Loot bags.

Project 52 - Week 7 - Love

This weeks tag is all about Love - as it should be in Valentine's week.......

Had to tell I know, but I have sprayed Gold Shimmer Mist
over the embossed hearts in the bottom section.

Awwwww, don't you just love the Red Glimmer Hearts.

STYD6 - Pets Paradise

Pets Paradise - Alter an item for use by a pet or for a pet.

I made Bee Jay a new Schmackos Jar by altering a Coffee Jar.

Turned out great...... I used Black Staz On ink for the paint/mud splat, and Tempting Turquoise embossing powder for the paw and Cherry Cobbler embossing powder for the saying. I have repeated the paw print on the other side as well.

I showed it to hubby when I had just finished it and nothing inside - hehehe, he said "What's the paw print for?" I did get a strange look when I said it was for the dog - but I'm used to that....LOL.
Anyways, I love how it turned out - maybe do one for Bluey our budgie next.

Valentines Notebook

Here is a little notebook I made for Valentines for hubby to use by his computer.....

I think it has just the right amount of Romance and Male influence so as not to embarrass him too much when his mates come over. It's an A5 size so it's not too big as to stand out too much....

CUCC1 - Cooking Up Creations Challenge

Ok, so if you are like me, when I read the title of this one, my immediate thought was, "OMG what do I have to cook!!".

Thankfully, I have to cook nothing....phew!

The recipe for this is: Using White Cardstock, use 1 new tool or Technique, only use left over scraps and left over embellishments - no new packs or sheets, and have embellishments in 3's.

So I'm pretty sure I have it covered - my new Technique was to emboss DSP and sand over it which I have done with a hearts folder on the top and bottom of the DSP under the photo.

I love this page....hehehe when I showed it to Laura she was embarrassed! I reckon she looked gorgeous, especially with cake icing over her lips...LOL.

Fabulous Frames

How awesome are these frames - so easy to make.

The talented Katie Resop did the Tutorial for these on the last round of USWDAF - Scored.

Ok, so a bit wobbly, but that's how I roll..hehehe,
yep, traditional 1st of the Year Family photo and me going "Am I really that big?"
Nathan is now taller then me (only 14) and Laura isn't far behind (at 10).

Laura and her BFF on first day of school - grade 6.
This is a smaller Square frame and has a scored line around the frame
- hard to see I know.

SQSC25 - Valentine Card

Thought I had better make a card for hubby for Valentine's Day.

This is the sketch for this weeks Stampin Queens Sketch Challenge:

And here is my card:

 And inside the card

I have used one of the Sale A Bration Stamp Sets called Sprinkled Expressions with versamark ink on the front for a watermarked look.

QC7 - Rain and Mud

Quote Challenge using the Quote from Denzel Washington: " You pray for rain, you gotta deal with the mud too. That's a part of it."

Friends and those that have followed my blog will know that we have dealt with rain and mud and the consequences that can occur with that. So what an ideal time to scrap a page of our flood disaster and show you Councils costly repairs to ensure it doesn't happen again....... I had another go at a Digital Layout.

I am very happy with how it has turned out and think I will have a go at doing the other photo's up as it was a rather stressful time for us and one we will never forget.

THC46 - Grandma

This Theme Challenge at Soul Scrappers was Grandma.

Here's my page:

I have used one of the gorgeous pages from the Hostess DSP Cheerful Treat and also to make the flower. How great is it - your bordered page set to go.....just add photo and a bit of creativity.
The Doily I have sponged with Melon Mambo to change the colour from white, and also used a Sharpie to change the colour of the Rhinestones.

USWDAF - Scored F2F Swap

Oh WOW - how lucky was I to get to swap with one of the designers on this round !!!!!

I showed you on an earlier post what I sent to Betty Traciak, but look what I received in the mail last week:

How awesome is that set !!!!!

It has magnets on the back to put on your fridge, but I have it in my Craft Studio so it doesn't get bumped every time someone goes into the kitchen.

Now if you think you don't recognise the papers, etc, you would be right as it is made from the Simply Sent Create & Keep set that is in the USA mini out now.
So keep an eye out for our next Mini in April, and hopefully, we may just get it.
