Stitched Stockings Skinny Tubes

I have been having a play with my Christmas sets for some ideas for gifts and classes.

Here are some of the Skinny Tubes I made for my Aunt to give to her ladies at Church. I just had to add the Rhinestones for a bit of Bling. I kept them on Very Vanilla backings so she could write a little message on the back.

  • Stamp Set: Stitched Stockings
  • Ink: Lucky Limeade, Real Red
  • Papers: Very Vanilla
  • Punches: Stocking Builder, 2 3/8 Scallop Circle
  • Others: Basic Jewels Rhinestones, Cello Bag (Non SU)
Lucky for me they are super quick and easy to make as Mum decided that she had to have some to take to England a couple of days before she left.......

Halloween Sleepover Treats

So this post is not really about papercraft, but more about creating.

Laura had a sleepover at a girlfriends place last night and had to get dressed up - so that was the first task, get an outfit!!!!

We got a matching bucket / pail to go with it, and with Laura's help we created these wonderful hands from popcorn/strawberry & creams lollies and disposable gloves. Seniors moment again, I know I got it off the net somewhere but can't recall......

Super cool idea and so easy to make - will find out how it all went over lunch when she gets home.
One thing is guaranteed, she will sleep well tonight....hehehe

SQSC # 10

It really seems like the week is going slow....and than all of a sudden the weekend is over and I am left wondering what happened to the week!!!

So here is this week's sketch:

And here is my card:

  • Stamp Set: Season Of Joy, En Francais, Four Frames
  • Ink: Basic Black, Night Of Navy, Island Indigo
  • Papers: Island Indigo, Whisper White, Night Of Navy
  • Punches: Decorative Label, Itty Bitty Shapes Pack
  • Others: Basic Jewels Rhinestones, Mini Glue Dots, 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon Night Of Navy (retired)
I got the Season Of Joy stamp set out as I had intended doing a Christmas card to add to my samples for my upcoming classes. However, once I started I changed my mine as I often do, but still used the flourish as I can now show my girls that they can use this set more often.......they will have to love that!

LNS Challenge 144: Thanksgiving

Late Night Stampers Challenge this week is Thanksgiving - one tree or leave on it.

Now in Australia, we don't do Thanksgiving - at least no-one I know does or has........so I decided now was a great time to try out the satin ribbon flowers and to add a few leaves to make it good for this weeks challenge.

  • Stamp Set: Oval All
  • Ink: Early Espresso
  • Papers: Pink Pirouette, Early Espresso, Pumpkin Pie
  • Dies: Tasteful Trim
  • Punches: Lace Ribbon Border, Blossom Petals Builder, Large Oval, Scallop Oval, 1" Circle, 3/4" Circle
  • Others: 5/8" Satin Ribbon Pumpkin Pie (retired), Heat Gun, Mini Glue Dots, Brights and Neutrals Designer Buttons

I think I have managed to get a bit of everything on this card - love the colours and the flowers are so unique that each one will be different. I must confess I used the retired ribbon as it was my first time and I figured if I buggered it, I could toss it without feeling guilty....hehehe, love how it looks though so now I will try with some new ones.....

I would love to give someone credit for the flowers, but I must admit I think I took the advice off 3 different blogs on how to do them and combined it all ...... I do know one was the very talent Sharon Field, who I have cased before ( remember the gorgeous Wedding Dress posts....) and I'm sorry but I can't remember the others, but I am sure you would have seen them before as they are just Divine and so much classier than paper ones. Oops, am I allowed to say that....hehehe, well they are aren't they !!!

Diamond Fold Christmas Card

Thought I would have a go at a Diamond Fold Card for Christmas.

The real trick to this card is in getting your score lines perfect.

  • Stamp Set: Beautiful Season, Stitched Stockings
  • Ink: Lucky Limeade, Real Red, Pretty In Pink, Baja Breeze, Wisteria Wonder
  • Papers:  Lucky Limeade, Real Red, Whisper White
  • Punches: Stocking Builder, Decorative Label, Curly Label
  • Others: Basic Jewels Pearls, Blender Pen
This is a great WOW card for those who like something different.

Creative Elements Z Fold Card

What a quick and easy class at CA tonight........Dee showed us how to make a Z Fold card.
Can't believe I have not made these before!

  • Stamp Set: Creative Elements
  • Ink: Elegant Eggplant, Versa Mark
  • Papers: Elegant Eggplant, Wisteria Wonder, Whisper White
  • Punches: Scallop Trim Border
  • Other: Elegant Eggplant 1/4 grosgrain Ribbon (retired), Fushia Tinsel Emboss Powder (Non SU)
Absolutely surprised myself with this card and love it.
It is hard to tell from the picture, but those flowers have a lovely glittering shine to them.
Now I just have to work on the closure a bit more and then I will be 100% happy with it.

Wedding Money Tree Envelope

One of the guys at work had a wedding to go to this weekend and they were having a money tree instead of asking for gifts - which is fast becoming the norm nowadays.

So naturally I asked if he had a NICE envelope to put it in instead of being one of the herd????

As you have probably guessed due to this posting, the answer was NO..... and here is what I made the happy couple

  • Stamp set: Word Play
  • Ink: Island Indigo
  • Papers: Whisper White
  • Dies: Scallop Envelope, Designer Frames Embossing Folder
  • Others: Victoria Crochet Ribbon, Antique Brad
I must say I love it and almost kept it......I will be making another one for my display board though as it really is a great idea and looks awesome - or as some of you say, stinking cute!!!!!!

Christmas Gift Boxes

Christmas really is just around the corner......just admit it, the year has flown by and Christmas is creeping up on you at a fast rate of knots.......ok, maybe it is just me, but I cannot believe my eldest will soon be starting Grade 10....Look out world he is about to embark on you all.....hehehe doesn't bear thinking about.

Now these are definitely worth thinking about......

101 ways to tie a bow.....but you all know that Bows are not my thing right!! Seriously, there are another 5 of these and yes, you guessed it, all different - I told my mum it would cut done their debating time on which two to take as they are all different....hehehe, sounded good to me.

How awesome is that Santa and Snowman together.....and seeing as I just HAD to taste test, they are both as yummy as each other. Speaking of awesome.......you just have to get some of the Seam Binding Ribbons. They are sooo soft and easy to work with (just ignore my attempts) and a great range of colours.

Ok, I hope I have spurred you on to start thinking about Christmas and what you need to complete your projects.

Let me know if I can help in any way....

Christmas Card Class - card 3

This is the third of my cards for my upcoming Christmas Card Class.

To challenge the ladies a bit, I have incorporated both punches and cutting into this design.
Must say it is my favourite of the three.

  • Stamp Set: Heard From the Heart, Contempo Christmas
  • Ink: Cherry Cobbler
  • Papers: Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler
  • Punches: Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border
  • Others: Seam Binding Cherry Cobbler
So I have given the ladies a variety of colours, stamps and techniques and certainly hope they enjoy the class.

  • Papers: Very Vanilla, Daffodil Delight, Early Espresso, First Edition Specialty DSP, Brights DSP pack
  • Punches:  Extra Large Oval, Large Oval

Christmas Card Class - card 2

With the second card of 3 in my upcoming class, I thought we would step it up a bit with an older set Season of Joy.

  • Stamp Set: Season of Joy
  • Ink: Real Red, Garden Green
  • Papers: Whisper White, Real Red
  • Others: Basic Jewels Pearls, 5/8 Satin Ribbon Real Red
So the first card was mainly just punches, and this card is no punches at all just stamping and cutting.
The third card I have both elements in to keep the ladies interested.

LNS Challenge 143: 1-2-3

This weeks Challenge at Late Night Stampers is 1-2-3.....1 Stamp, 2 Embellishments and 3 colours.

Here's my card:
  • 1 Stamp: Dasher
  • 2 Embellishments: Real Red 1 1/4 Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, Gold Emboss Powder
  • 3 Colours: Real Red, Whisper White, Very Vanilla (in Ribbon)
Hope you like it - I had fun with this one and decided to get out of my normal style and try something different.

Is it just me or does Dasher look like he's been on a diet?????

I think if it was 3 embellishments, a mini red brad for his nose would really make this card POP......

Tri Shutter Card

Monday night means CA Online Class........Bek Kaberry taught us how to make a Tri Shutter Card, which is great because I have been wanting to make one of these for a while now.....funny really because it looks so hard.....the hardest part to the card is actually deciding how to decorate it....go figure!!!!

  • Stamp Set: Delicate Doilies, Word Play
  • Ink: Melon Mambo, Pretty In Pink
  • Papers: Blushing Bride, Melon Mambo, Whisper White, Flirtatious Specialty DSP
  • Punches: Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer
  • Others: Basic Jewels Pearls
Absolutely love how it has all co-ordinated so well, even with my Blushing Bride instead of Pretty in Pink.

Gotta love it when you can co-ordinate your cardstock, dsp, ink and stamp sets all in the one project !!!!

Christmas Card Class - card 1

I have a Christmas Card class coming up at the end of November - part of the Book-A-Thon SU had last week. So have come up with 3 cards so far for my hostess to choose from. I will make another 3 so she can pick what will suit her friends levels the best.

Here's the first one - I have seen a varitey of these popping up on blogs so came up with this colour combo and just love how bright and fresh looking it is.

I popped one stampin dimensional on the top of the presents to give a 2D look which makes you want to grab the present! Not forgetting the BLING either.
  • Stamp Set: Curly Cute
  • Ink: Melon Mambo
  • Papers: Lucky Limeade, Melon Mambo, Whisper White, Cheerful Treat DSP (Hostess)
  • Punches: 1 1/4 & 1 3/8 Square, Triple Flower
  • Others: Basic Jewel Rhimestones
That DSP is so versitile and looks awesome as the wrapping on the presents - a super simple card to make as the first of 3.
I am on my second pack of Lucky Limeade, but that should be no surprise as I loved Kiwi Kiss and it just a fresher version of it as I say.

CA Secret Sister

In the beginning of August at Crafters Anonymous, we put our names down for a Secret Sister swap - theme being friendship.  By the end of August we all knew who we had to make our gifts for and had a questionnaire each of us filled out to help make gifts for our sister.

We all had to ensure we had posted them on or before 1st October.
Yesterday was the day we all got to post a photo of our Secret Sister gifts and guess who we thought it was.

What an absolute fun day of  ohhhhing and ahhhhing at the amazing gifts made and received and the fun of guessing - frustrating for some....hehehe.....I managed to correctly guess my SS Bek Kaberry first up but only by alot of blog hopping and reading of posted comments, and even them I wasn't convinced I had her right.

So I guess you want to see the pressies....right!!!!!

Here is the lovely gifts I received from Bek:

I was Secret Sister to Rachael Hecker and here's what I made for her:

What great fun we have all had - next swap coming up is a Christmas Ornament Swap and I am looking forward to decorating my tree with all the lovely handmade ornaments from my sisters ..... hehehe, I feel so blessed as I don't have any sisters myself, only brothers.I do have 3 sisters-in-law, but it doesn't feel the same.

SQSC # 8

I've been a bit slow this week with this challenge as I've been a bit unwell, but slightly feeling better now....

Here's the sketch:

Here's my take on it:

  • Stamp Set: Vintage Vogue
  • Ink: Early Espresso
  • Papers: Baja Breeze, Early Espresso, Daffodil Delight
  • Dies: Fancy Favor
  • Punches: Decorative Label, Modern Label, Word Window
  • Others: Baja Breeze Seam Binding, Glimmer Brads - Basics & Subtles
Yes, I know, according to the sketch, the ribbon should be on the left.....LOL...it would probably look better there actually, but we can change the sketch abit to our own tastes so to speak.
Anyways, I do like how it turned out and just love those glitter brads!

Stitched Stockings Treat Box

Have you taken advantage of this month's sneak peak promotion yet?

How cute is this guy !!!!

Perfect as part of the Teacher's Christmas present and those BFF that your daughter just has to give something to on the last day of school.....come on, you know it's not just my daughter that has to do that...right????? At least with my son, it's uncool to do that at High School Mum !!!!!

The most enjoyable part of making this (apart from then giving them away) was using the Builder Punch to punch out the stamped image !!!!!!!!! Goodness I love my punches and now how easy and quick are those tags going to be for all the Besties we seem to have at Christmas Time.....hehehe, you know I love it.

Remember thought, only for month of October, and then you have to wait until 1st December, and let's face it, if you haven't got your presents for those Besties done by then, look out for the evil stares as school finishes 9th and yes, presents start to get given and received on the Monday - not (apparently) on the last day..... hehehe, another thing my daughter learnt from me and I must say I think she has perfected THAT stare quite well for a 10 year old....

Email me your order and details, or email me with a proposed date for a Christmas Workshop where we can play with these stamps and punch and if your order / party is over $ 450.00 you will get both for free.....whoo who, gotta love that.

  • Stamp Set: Zoo Review, Curly Cute
  • Ink: Cajun Craze
  • Papers: Cajun Craze, Not Quite Navy, River Rock
  • Punches: Decorative Label
Must say I love this card and the colours are perfect for this stamp set!!!

LNS Challenge 141: Halloween Treat Holder

This weeks challenge on Late Night Stampers is to make a Halloween Treat Holder.

I'm not one of the many Australians that celebrate Halloween, but I am making a holder as best I can ( and yes, if the kids come to the door I do give them Lollies or glow in the dark bracelets).
Stampin' Up! gave us a little "Boo" stamp this year, but it didn't make my wish list.

  • Cardstock: Basic Black, Love Letter DSP (retired)
  • Ink: Whisper White
  • Accessories: Big Shot, Clear Large Scallop Square Die, Gel Pen, 1 3/8 Circle Punch, Heart to Heart Punch, Black Satin Ribbon, 1 1/4 Stripped Grosgrain Ribbon - Pumpkin Pie & Rich Razzleberry (both retired), finished packing tape roll (non SU)
I think it turned out ok......hope you like it.

Pool Party Snowman

Pool Party Snowman - now that's not a combination you would think would go together would you.......
I thought I would have another play with the new In Color Pool Party .

  • Cardstock: Whisper White, Pool Party
  • Ink: Pool Party
  • Stamp Set: Curly Cute, Button Buddies
  • Accessories: Lace Ribbon Border Punch, Big Shot, Designer Frames Emboss Folders, 1/8 Taffeta Ribbon Basic Black
A great simple looking card. I love how it turned out.
The thing to remember with the Button Buddies Stamp Set is that you don't have to put buttons on your images. As you can see they look quite normal without them.
