Punch Art Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the inaugural South Pacific punch art blog hop!!!

We are a bunch of Stampin Up demonstrators from New Zeealand and Australia who love our Stampin Up punches. We have gotten together to showcase a selection of the punches you can purchasae from Stampin Up. We know we will inspire you and encourage you to use those punches in new and beautiful ways. Please leave a comment by Friday 5th November and let us know what you think to go in the draw to win some yummy scrummy punch art blog candy (offer not available to su demos).

Welcome to you if you just joined from Emma Kirton , if you are just starting your journey from me, you are in for a treat.

My featured punch is the new Ornament Extra-Large Punch  (119847) $33.95.

I have used a few different mediums to show you various uses today.

First up is the Magnolia Flower - I watched a video on how to make this, but I'm sorry as I can't recall the person's name or site it was on............. I wanted a fuller flower, so I used 30 punches instead of 20 and the 1 3/4" Circle Extra-Large Punch (119850) $ 33.95 for the base, that's the great thing about making your own - tailor it to your individual needs. ........

Sherri Freese showed us a variation on this - with the 30 punches curled and positioned differently, and a chocolate sitting as a bud - a welcome addition to any special setting. Used here with Jolly Holiday DSP to create a perfect place setting at Christmas.

This is my "Noah's Ark" which I stumbled on whilst having a play with the punch one afternoon ... I was quite pleased with myself that I had actually created something that hadn't already be made (at least, not that I am aware of).
I will put a tutorial on my site so you can make one too, if it's not there yet, emailme and I'll email it too you..... let me know how you go.

Now have I included a couple that incorporate other punches as well.

The Singing Angel was cased from the talented Sherri Freese.
The lovely Angel uses 6 punches to recreate, but she is definately worth the effort.

My Lady Elf Bag Topper is attached to a Bag-A-Lope. She is a combination of a couple of Elf's I have come across on a few different blogs - again, that's what is so wonderful about papercraft and shows how versitle Stampin' Up Punches are and the wonderful creations you can create and share with others to inpsire them to get their creative juices working.

Also, you could use this Santa Elf or Mrs Santa Elf as Bag Toppers or as an Embellishment to place on your Christmas Scrap Page.

For those who regularly vist my Blog, you would recall earlier this month I posted a Lantern Party Card, the Lantern's were created using the off cuts from the above Mrs Santa Elf. So don't throw those off cuts away - they are another creation just waiting for you to create.

I really do hope you have enjoyed my efforts at punch art and feel sure you will get just as much enjoyment viewing  Andrea Buckland's....... who is next on the Blog Hop.

Sympathy Card

Unfortunately I have had to make another Sympathy card, so soon after the last.
I made this for my Brother and Sister In Law after her Mother passed away on Sunday.
I won't be able to make it up to Townsville for the funeral, so made this card as my way of letting them know they are in my thoughts.

I have used the the bouquet from the new Elements of Style Stamp Set, Sentiment from Teeny Tiny Sentiments Stamp Set, Pink Pirouette and Whisper White Cardstocks, Rose Red Ink Pad ( LOVE it), the new 5/8" Organza Whisper White Ribbon, Modern Label Punch, the new Scallop Trim Border Punc and Jewel Basic Pearls.

I really love how the pearls give the card a WOW dimension.

What do you think ? ..... I'd love to see your thoughts.......

Hot Air Ballooning

Thought I'd share with you some pictures of Mine and Mum's flight on Monday morning.

We did both enjoy it, even though mum doesn't always look it .... LOL......could be that we had to get up at 3.00am, and if you didn't know, I am not a morning person.

Anyways, I would recommend doing this someday as it really is a fantastic experience.

I was happy to share the day with my mum who turned 70 only 3 days later - Happy Birthday Mum - I didn't take phots's of the scrumptious buffet we had for breakfast, but trust me, I did not need lunch that day !!!!!

Scrap Pages will follow in another Blog when I can workout the best combo's to use.

Cheerleader Punched Art Card

Here's a card I made for a swap earlier this month - that's why there are seven of them.....I cased this card from an American Demo - Dawn Olchefske.I changed the colours and sentiment to showcase our new ones.

Cheerleader in new colour Marina Mist, Cardstock (121682) and Ink Pad (119668) with the Sentiment from the new stamp set Style Beautiful (120483 clear), you can't quite read it, but it says "Life is Beautiful" and isn't that something to jump up and celebrate!

Want to know how to make her? We could make her at your next workshop.

Come back on Thursday to see the second card I made for the same Swap.

Just Believe

Here are a couple of cards using the new stamp set Just Believe (121540), with one of the new In Colours -Pear Pizzazz, Cardstock (121693) and Ink Pad (119784) with Soft Suede Ink Pad (115657) and Whisper White Cardstock (106549). The first card also uses the new 5/8" Whisper White Organza Ribbon (114319).

Sorry for the poor photo's they really are the same colours ( take notice of the first one). photography isn't a strong point with me..LOL...if you couldn't tell. The second one actually looks as though I used Wild Wabasi !! as you can tell, both colours look great.

Both these cards are simple and crisp in design and either one would make a great Make & Take card for your next workshop (or maybe the one after your Christmas workshop!).

Party This Way Birthday Card

As the name suggests, the stamp set I used is called Party This Way (clear 120609) and I used the Masking Technique to create a row of balloons for this card. The sentiment is from the Perfect Punches (clear 120516).
Instead of ribbon, I used a strip of DSP from our new range. This one being Greenhouse Gala (117167). Colours used are Old Olive, Daffodil Delight and Melon Mambo. I really like these colours together.

Book a workshop today and I can show you and your friends the masking Techniques and various ways to create one of a kind cards or embellishments for your Scrap Pages.

Twlight Inspired Card

A few weeks ago, I called out for some help to create a Twlight Inspired Card - my fellow Demo's where great in showing me their creative works. Taking all that on board, this is the card and gift bag I came up with for my daughter's friend Brooke's 10th Birthday in 2 weeks. I'm told she is a HUGE Twlight fan and I'm pretty sure she won't be getting two of these at her party.

I have used the Baroque Motifs Stamp Set (116340) with Versamark Ink Pad (102283) and Black Stampin' Emboss Powder (109133) on Real Red Cardstock (106578). To personalise it, I did the B using the Monogram Sweet Set (121548) on Soft Suede Cardstock (119982) punched out with the Round Tab Extra-Large Punch ( 119864).

What do you think?

If you are a HUGE Twlight Fan, or just love the design, let's arrange a time to get together and do some embossing. As you can see, it really does make the card stunning.

Remember, if you live too far away for me to visit, you can always email me your order and I can have it delivered anywhere in Australia for the flat fee of $5.95, or 5% of order before postage, whichever is greater. You can pay by credit card or direct deposit.
Just click on the Catalogue Photo to your right to check out these products and the great range available.

Lantern Party Card

I made this card today using the off cuts from my Mrs Santa Elf I made for the up coming "Punch Blog Hop"  on the 29th October - you will have to wait until then to view her.

I have used Pear Pizzazz (121693), Real Red (106578) and Early Espresso (121686) cardstocks, Rich Razzleberry  (115658) Ink Pad and the new Party This Way (121558) Stamp Set.  The Punches used were the Ornamental Extra-Large (119847) and the Scallop Oval Extra-Large (119856).

If you want to unleash your Creative side or discover just how Creative you can be, let me know and together we can create some inspiring cards, tags, scrap pages or gift bags using the versatile punches we have on offer.

Christmas Boxes

Hasn't the year just flown by ...... I can't believe Christmas is virtually around the corner.

I made these boxes up to put some little chocolates in for the guys at work - and now have more to make for teachers, girlfriends, mothers, etc.

They are light enough empty to be used as decorations on your Christmas tree .... have the family pick their favourite colour and put their initials on it.

If you'd like to have these as your Make and Take at your workshop, contact me for a suitable time one evening or weekend and we'll get a head start on your Christmas preparations.

Sympathy Card

I made this card for my Boss and his wife.
I wanted to let them know I was thinking of them in their time of loss, but wanted it to be uplifting and bring a smile to their faces (yes, they loved the card).

We were lucky enough to get this stamp set Every Moment (121508) given to us at our Regional Meeting last month.....yes, I was one of those who did not particularly like the set. Guess what !!! It is turning into a favourite.
I used each one of the In Colour Markers ( 119801) pack of 5, along with  the In Colour Concord Crush Ink Pad (119785). The Whisper White 5/8" Organza Ribbon (114319) is another must have. I also used the Paper-Piercing Tool (116631) which can now be bought as a separate item, and another must have tool for your kit.

If your interested in this card or any of the products used, contact me and you can be making thoughtful cards of your own.

World Card Making Day

A Big Happy World Card Making Day to you all.

Whilst I did not hold an event this year, I did attend one held jointly by Chrissie and Sherri at Victoria Point.
Everyone enjoyed the day and came away with 4 wonderful 3D projects, happy in the knowledge we all helped to raise much needed funds for The Chicks In Pink - money needed in research for Breast Cancer.

I thought I would share with you my Birds that I was lucky enough to get a template of.
They were inspired by the birds on page 125 of the new IB&C.

I have used Retired Cardstock and DSP due to them being for my Mothers 70th Birthday in a couple of weeks (I am taking her Hot Air Ballooning...WooHoo...look out for that Scrap Page) and these are her favourite colours. Yes, I know, she needs to pick some new ones - Pear Pizzazz comes to mind.
They look brillant in any of our new colours or DSP pages.

If you think you are up to the challenge, or would like to give me a challenge, contact me and we can work on it together.

Until next time, Happy Crafting....YCB
